When it comes to those contributing to the ideas of a New Economy, there is a whole range of researchers who have been working on this for one, two, or more decades. These include Harvard economist Dani Rodrik, who was already criticizing the market-liberal approach to globalization in the 1990s. They also include Thomas Piketty, Gabriel Zucman, and Branko Milanovic with their groundbreaking research on inequality. Likewise, Mariana Mazzucato, regarding a new understanding of an innovative state, or Isabella Weber, who became known for her work on price controls during crises. <\/p>\n\n
In the meantime, however, a number of thinkers have also joined who criticize the old market-liberal dogma from a more established position\u2014and are looking for something new. Even if they do not fit into the usual molds. These include former IMF Chief Economist Olivier Blanchard, one of the co-signatories of the Berlin Declaration, as well as former Chilean Finance Minister Andres Velasco and former British central banker Tim Besley, who co-initiated the London Consensus. This also includes Aspen Director Stormy-Annika Mildner, also a signatory of the Berlin Declaration. <\/p>\n\n
Finally, the new thinkers include several Nobel laureates such as Angus Deaton, Joseph Stiglitz, Daron Acemoglu, and Simon Johnson.<\/p>\n\n
